The world below dissolved into an ocean of jagged white, so steep and unforgiving that even the wind seemed to hold its breath. Suspended in the freezing air, the small alpine cable car swayed gently, its weathered metal cable vibrating with a low, rhythmic hum that resonated straight into my bones.

Outside the frost-edged window, dusk was bleeding across the sky in rich, bruised shades of dusky purple and deep indigo. Faint, ghostly clouds swirled around the distant, jagged peaks, swallowing the last bruised rays of daylight. Every detail of the journey felt amplified—the scratch of my wool scarf, the condensation slowly tracing paths down the glass, and the dizzying expanse of the abyss sliding past beneath our feet.

With a soft, metallic sigh, the cabin crested the final rise, gliding smoothly toward the welcoming amber glow of the summit station. As the doors slid open, releasing a rush of crisp, pine-scented air, I stepped out onto the quiet platform, leaving the thrilling, frozen solitude of the heights behind.
