The world narrowed down to three things: the cold steel of the starting blocks against his spikes, the deafening hum of eighty thousand spectators dissolving into white noise, and the deep, anchoring breath filling his lungs. Time didn't just slow down; it fractured.

*On your marks.*

Leo coiled his frame, every muscle fiber strung tighter than a piano wire. His knuckles pressed hard into the cinder track, biting into the grit. The stadium lights bled into streaks of gold and shadow above, framing the massive arena that loomed like a modern colosseum. He didn’t look up. He didn't need to. He only stared at the stark white line stretching out ahead of him, the threshold of victory and pain.

*Set.*

His hips rose, shifting his center of gravity forward, muscles trembling under the sheer explosive potential waiting to be uncaged. The air grew heavy, pregnant with the collective anticipation of the crowd.

*Bang.*

The starter's pistol tore through the silence, and instinct took over.

With a ferocious roar that tore from his throat, Leo launched. It was an act of pure, violent physics—a devastating leg drive that ground the blocks backward and propelled his body forward like a fired projectile. From the low angle of the track, the world seemed to tilt beneath him as his spikes tore into the turf, kicking up a fine spray of rubber and dust.

Blurring past the edges of his vision, the stadium grandstands melted into a streak of vibrant color, a roaring vortex of light and sound. But in the center of the lane, there was absolute clarity. Head down, driving his knees high, Leo tore into the wind, chasing the finish line with every ounce of his soul.
