The world shrank to a deafening roar and a tunnel of translucent jade. Leo crouched low, his fiberglass board humming beneath his feet as he drove deeper into the belly of the beast. All around him, the ocean unleashed its primal fury, a swirling vortex of unimaginable energy that threatened to crush him at a moment's notice. Above, the lip of the wave curled over, blotting out the sky and plunging him into a cathedral of shifting shadows. But right at the heart of the barrel, a sudden shaft of sunlight pierced through the thick, translucent wall of water. It ignited the cavern in a brilliant explosion of gold and emerald light, illuminating the microscopic bubbles dancing around his shoulders.
