The engine gave a final, contented tick-tick-tick as Julian killed the ignition, letting the sudden silence of the coast rush in to fill the void. He pulled off his aviator sunglasses, wiping a stray bead of sweat from his forehead, and looked out over the endless expanse of sapphire blue.

Parked at the edge of the scenic coastal highway overlook, the vintage red convertible looked every bit the masterpiece of a bygone era. Its cherry-red bodywork caught the glare of the bright midday sun, glowing like a hot ember against the rugged cliffside. Gleaming chrome details—from the sleek side-mirrors to the heavy bumper—flashed blinding reflections of the sky, capturing the absolute essence of a classic summer.

A brisk sea breeze swept up from the cliffs below, carrying the sharp scent of salt water and sun-baked asphalt. It rustled Julian’s hair and whipped playfully at the car's empty leather seats. He had been driving for hours with the top down, chasing nothing more than the horizon and the rhythmic crash of the waves against the rocks far beneath him.

He rested his arms on the steering wheel, taking a deep, grounding breath of the ocean air. There was no schedule to keep, no destination waiting at the end of the asphalt ribbon behind them. Right here, suspended between the roaring ocean and the endless summer sky, time seemed to stand still, locked in the timeless shine of chrome and red lacquer.
